BosScrew™ for Refrigerator Drawers
Problem:
Customer was looking to change from a steel to plastic liner in a refrigerator application but was unable to pass life cycle testing. Competitive plastic thread forming screws failed prior to the 300,000 door slams required of the part.
Solution:
Customer switched to a BosScrew™ and the part exceeded the testing. The BosScrew™ made it over 1,000,000 door slams to failure, which is more than double the requirement.
Impact:
The BosScrew™ allowed the customer to switch from a steel liner to a less expensive and lighter plastic door liner for the refrigerator.
