CYCLONE™ TAPPING SCREWS

The serrated helical shoulder of the Cyclone™ screw penetrates into sheet metal, allowing the screw to accept a higher level of tightening torque, increasing backout resistance. Cyclone tapping screws are user-friendly due to their significantly increased range of safe operation (defined by maximum drive torque required minus minimum strip torque). These screws minimize stripping issues that cause scrap loss and the need for reworking. Cyclone screws are ideal for automate assembly due to their outstanding drive/strip torque ratio. In many applications, this allows for the use of thinner sheet metal.

GER-NIB FEATURE: For particularly torque-sensitive applications. Shakeproof’s torque-robbing Ger-Nib™ feature can be incorporated in the Cyclone™ screw head to increase strip out torque.

In order to absorb a higher level of tightening torque, the Cyclone™ screw is equipped with a serrated helical shoulder that actually bites into sheet metal. This provides these sheet metal cyclone screws with a very high safe operating range which reduces scrap, re-work, and lost time. It also improves the drive to strip ratio, allowing sheet metal of smaller thickness to be used.
